“Teen Tree” is a ministry that focuses on assisting less fortunate teenage children during the holidays.
Specifically, Teen Tree purchases items such as hats, coats, gloves, pants, shirts, shoes and other essentials and delivers these items, all wrapped as Christmas presents to teen age children.
Are there specific requirements for the teen age children assisted by Teen Tree?
Absolutely! We begin by working closely with the local high school staff as well as local agencies to identify teen age children in need. Next, we do our best to qualify the need and ensure that the children are between 12 and 18 years of age; are enrolled in school; and are not in any trouble with local authorities. We work hard to help those teenagers who are trying their best to better themselves, but find themselves in financially difficult situations.
Does this assistance stay local?
Yes, Teen Tree focuses on children in our local area.
When are the gifts delivered?
Delivery is always scheduled as close to the Christmas holidays as possible.
How did Teen Tree begin?
Misty & Brent Jeno began Teen Tree in 2002. Since that time they have help hundreds of teen age children have a brighter and happier Holiday Season with the support and help of people just like you! Brent and Misty still remain very active in the Teen Tree program.
Will my donation be tax deductible?
Yes. Teen Tree is managed as an outreach community program under Rock Pointe Worship Center. Rock Pointe is a 501c3 non-profit corporation and all your contributions are tax deductible. Provided we have your mailing address, we will mail a contribution receipt to your home or business for your tax filing purposes.
Do you ever give cash to the teen age children?
No, we work very closely with the families to better understand the needs, and then we go out personally and make the purchases ourselves. We do not provide cash assistance to the teenagers but when the need arises we will take food boxes to the families.
How can I help?
You can help us in numerous ways. First, your tax deductible donation is critical to our ability to keep this program alive. In 2006 we received requests from over 60 teen age children. On average, we spend between $150 and $200 on each child. This allows us to get them the clothes, shoes, coats and necessities that they need. With the tough economy, we anticipate the need to be even greater than in years past. Any size donation, from $1 to $1,000 will all go to help teen age children in need. Not one penny will go for administrative costs!
Second, you can sponsor a child. We will provide you the information and you can shop, purchase and wrap the gifts. Then all you do is bring them to us for delivery!
